  It was started in 1985 but due to some manger issues stopped when its completed 80% and 1996 1 unit start working. After that resumed this work at 2007 and expected to gain 116 MW electricity from these reactor at 2012 to 2013 but in vain. At that time forecast the expected cost was $2.5 billion. Project was not completed at this cost and postponed to 2016 at the budget of $4.7 billion.

Vogtle 3&4

 This project was singed in April 2008 and expected to complete in 2019 or 2020. Two Westinghouse AP1000 reactor of 1200 MW  project was singed with two companies  one of them was Westinghouse and the other one is The Shaw Group in April 2008 by Georgia Power. In 2012 February NCR give him the COL and in the staring due to concrete problem postponed from 2012 to March 2013.After a lot of problems finally Construction of unit 3 was start in March 2013 and unit 4 was in November.  

14 billion dollar cost was forecast at the staring but due to again late in center of 2014 cost was increase 381 million dollar.When an other delay declared in January 2015 the expertise of said that the cost of per month increase $40 million in which $10 million escalation cost and $30 million was financing cost.In 2014 $6.5 billion dollar loan was issued by Georgia Power & Oglethorpe and remaining $1.8 billion of loan was issued by 3 partners Municipal Electric Authority of Georgia 
(MEAG) as a guarantees in 2015 June.
